2008 Spring Arrangements Extravangza

April 4, 5 and 6, 2008

The Houston Rose Show is proud to be part of the Home and Garden Show at the George R. Brown Convention Center on April 4, 5 and 6, 2008. Because it is a little early to have an ARS sponsored rose show, we have decided to have a massive arrangement's contest. We are offering two cash prizes of $100 each. One prize will be awarded by ARS Arrangements Judge Robin Hough based on the American Rose Society criterion for arrangements. The second $100 prize will be awarded to the arrangement receiving the most votes from attendees at the Home and Garden Show. The arrangement that is selected by Robin Hough for the first $100 prize is ineligible for the popular vote prize.

So, if you have ever thought about entering an arrangement, here is your chance to win a $100 prize. All arrangement materials must be furnished by the exhibitor, but, because of the early spring date, we will not have the requirement that the roses come from your garden. Any rose, from a florist or flower vendor, or even a grocery store, can be used. For this contest, the standard is about the beauty of the arrangement, not about growing the roses used in the arrangement.

The roses may be entered from 9 am to 11 am on Saturday, April 5th. You must pick up your arrangement between 3 pm and 5 pm on Sunday, April 6th. If you do not pick up your arrangement, it will be disposed of at the end of the show.
